Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and awareness is one of the main reasons I’ve been doing these 20 Things (the other to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Bristol and Young Lives Vs Cancer).

20 Years ago (19 years and 10 months ago today to be precise) I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and after receiving Chemotherapy for 3 years I made it out the other side.

Whilst cure rates for children are much higher than for most adult cancers, more research is desperately needed to keep on top of this life changing disease.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has helped so far, from donating, helping organising, attending events and giving me messages of encouragement along the way (particularly during the 100 Mile Walk and Land’s End Cycle).

Over £2,000 has been raised so far which is an incredible amount and was actually my original target but with the Quiz Night, The Big Ball and Horse Race Night still to come I look forward to seeing what the final total will be!
